We are excited to announce that two of CYSO’s Symphony Orchestra students were recently featured on the nationally syndicated radio program From the Top! Flutist Anika Veda and oboist Zachary Allen were featured in an episode hosted by pianist Peter Dugan and clarinetist Alex Laing.
The program, which included four other young performers, included familiar works by composers such as Rachmaninoff, Clara Schumann, Frédéric Chopin, and Carl Maria von Weber, while Anika and Zach both performed newer pieces. Anika performed Valerie Coleman’s Portraits of Langston, I. Helen Keller VI. Harlem’s Summer Night By while Zach played The Door of No Return, Mvmt.3 by Althea Talbot-Howard.
