Congratulations to CYSO Chamber Music ensembles Soto Voce String Quartet and Caesura Duet on their success at the Winter 2021 Charleston International Music Competition!

Bianca Ciubancan and Joshua Wolford (violins), Tessa Olson (viola), and Elijah Park (cello), who comprise the Soto Voce Quartet, are members of Symphony Orchestra.
Their performance of String Quartet No. 2 in D Major by Bordin earned them first place in the Middle Section quartet category. They have been rehearsing throughout the pandemic, coached by Istvan Loga. Hannah Thill (viola) and Matthew Jordan (cello), of the Caesura Duet, are also members of Symphony Orchestra. They were awarded second place for their performance of Beethoven’s Duet in E Flat Major, op. WoO32. They were coached by Paul Zafer.

Both videos are up for the competition’s Performer of the Month award, and a $100 cash prize, based on the performance that gets the most views on Charleston International Music Competition’s youtube channel.
You can watch Caesura Duet here and Soto Voce Quartet here now through March 31 to help them in the running.
Both groups will be featured as part of the CYSO Winter 2021 Virtual Concert on March 27. Congratulations to all six musicians on their hard work and success!
