Welcome to the 2018-2019 Season!

The rep is ready, hallways are humming, and our 2018-2019 season is officially underway! We’re thrilled to have 650 young musicians as part of our on-site ensembles this year and look forward to serving thousands more young Chicagoans through our Community Partnership programming.

Here’s a few of the exciting projects we’re looking forward to in the upcoming season:

  • Philharmonic Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra, and Kaiso Steel Orchestra will perform Education Concerts this season for an expected 3,000 Chicago Public Schools students at Studebaker Theater
  • Chamber Orchestra’s first full season of programming will explore immigration and present an October concert at People’s Church of Chicago in Uptown
  • Philharmonic Orchestra will once again team up with Classical Kids Live! for a March performance of Beethoven Lives Upstairs at North Shore Center of the Performing Arts
  • Symphony Orchestra students will embark for northern Europe on our June 2019 Tour of the Baltics
  • Accelerando Strings will perform an expanded side-by-side concert including a joint piece with ChiArts orchestra
  • Our CYSO at CPS teaching artists will lead after-school band, world drumming, and steelpan programming at National Teachers Academy and Moos Elementary School
  • And so much more!

We look forward to seeing old friends and new faces at events this season. Download our 2018-2019 season calendar so you don’t miss a thing, and watch our social media for exciting new programming announcements all season long!
