Open House Weekend

Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21, 2018

Experience what it’s like to be part of the CYSO family! Open House Weekend is a two-day drop-in event featuring open rehearsals, presentations, and a chance to learn more about being a CYSO student. It’s is a great way to get answers to all your questions about CYSO programs and meet our artistic and administrative staff in person. Open House is free and open to the public!

Open House attendees will receive a discount code that waives the cost of your CYSO audition registration. Audition slots for next season’s orchestras will open in January.

ELEMENTARY-LEVEL ACTIVITIES
Saturday, October 20

Open House activities for elementary school musicians will take place throughout the day on Saturday. Prospective families are encouraged to research the orchestra or orchestras that best line up with their child’s level and attend those rehearsals. Info sessions will repeat in the morning and afternoon.

Led by Steel Orchestras Assistant Scott McConnell, learn about the history and making of steelpan (steel drum) followed by an introduction to playing this unique instrument. CYSO offers steel orchestra ensembles at all levels for students from elementary to high school.
