Grant Writer
Meredith Shaner has nearly 20 years of experience in non-profit development. She has been a member of the CYSO staff since 2009, and currently serves as CYSO’s Grant Writer. In this role, Meredith raises funds for the organization from foundations, corporations, and government sources. She is also an alumna of CYSO and played viola in the Symphony Orchestra from 1996 – 1998.
What was the first ensemble you played in?
The first ensemble that I played in was the Hawthorne Elementary School Orchestra in Wheaton, IL.
What is your favorite musical memory from when you were young?
My favorite musical memory was touring Europe with CYSO’s Symphony Orchestra in 1997. It was my first trip out of the country, and it was so much fun to perform in amazing concert halls and explore new places with everyone in the orchestra.
