Mark your calendars! This fall, CYSO will join more than 300 fellow musicians in the inaugural Ear Taxi Festival celebrating new classical music in Chicago. The festival takes place over six days from October 5-10, 2016 and will feature the work of 75 Chicago-based composers, including 53 world premiers, concerts, lectures, marathons, webcasts, and artist receptions.
As part of Ear Taxi, CYSO will perform the world premier of works by Eric Malmquist and Jonathan Newman in a performance to also include the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Festival passes go on sale in February, and tickets to individual events will be available this fall.
CYSO’s Director of Operations, Brian Baxter, will have his piece, Roots Run Deep, performed by Chicago Composers Orchestra on October 9 as part of the festival.
