This year’s National Youth Orchestra roster was announced today, and we’re thrilled to share that five CYSO students are included in the this elite group of musicians chosen from around the country!
Kayla Cabrera (viola), Charles Stuedemann (trumpet), Lucie Ticho (cello), Alec Mawrence (tuba), and James Vaughen (trumpet) will join young players from around the country this summer in a 2-week training residency and a European tour hosted by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute.
“We couldn’t be prouder of these students,” said CYSO Director of Operations Brian Baxter. “All five of them worked very hard to get where they are, and will make wonderful ambassadors for CYSO, Illinois, and the United States.”
Congratulations to all five of these dedicated and hard-working young musicians!
