Students Impress at Winter Concerts

It may be chilly outside, but our students are bringing the heat with fantastic Winter concerts! Congratulations to our Accelerando Strings and Philharmonic Orchestra on their wonderful performances this past week.

Accelerando Strings performed in their Community Concert on March 3 with the Amundsen High School Orchestra and Honors Chamber Ensemble. Playing to a packed house, students performed works by Richard Stephan, Carold Nunez, and Felix Mendelssohn.

Then on March 6, our Philharmonic Orchestra performed their winter concert at University of Chicago’s Logan Center for the Arts. The program included works by Shostakovich, Borodin, Gladney Wells, and Berlioz, as well as a performance from Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competition winner, Aiden Yu, who performed Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen.
