CYSO’s Symphony Orchestra took the stage at Chicago’s Orchestra Hall on Sunday, May 21, 2017 for their final performance of CYSO’s 70th anniversary season. The orchestra performed the world premiere of composer-in-residence and Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche’s concerto Infinite Tree. Kotche joined Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Allen Tinkham, on stage as solo percussionist for this unforgettable performance. The orchestra also performed Dvořák’s Carnival Overture and Tchaikovsky’s emotional Symphony no. 6 Pathétique. The concert opened with CYSO’s Philharmonic Orchestra, under the director of Maestro Terrance Malone Gray, performing Suppé’s Poet and Peasant Overture.
