Symphony Orchestra at Orchestra Hall – Spring 2022

CYSO’s Symphony Orchestra presented their Fall Concert at Orchestra Hall on Sunday, November 20, 2022. CYSO alum Mary Elizabeth Bowden joined the ensemble to perform the world premiere of “Bohemian Queen,” a new concerto from composer Clarice Assad inspired by the work of the surrealist Chicago painter Gertrude Abercrombie. The program also featured an exciting line-up of contemporary works from Jessie Montgomery, Anna Clyne, and Daniel Bernard Roumain, as well as Strauss’ autobiographical Ein Heldenleben. CYSO also presented the 2022 Alumni Award to Jerome Fifer, 1953 alum. Read more about the performance.
